How We Work

  • meet to review and plan

October

    • solicitation letters mailed

    • screening information/fliers distributed and posted throughout Radford

    • scheduling of volunteers begins

November

    • applicants are screened, given food voucher and appointment to shop for children

    • volunteers shop for specific age groups

    • gift/toy donation boxes distributed to participating businesses

    • publicity begins

December (distribution is usually the first weekend in December)

Wednesday and Thursday

    • “store” set up begins in the fellowship hall at Grove United Methodist Church

Friday

    • 10:00AM - 7:00PM client shopping

Saturday

    • 10:00AM - 3:00PM client shopping

    • 3:00PM - 5:00PM inventory/packing of remaining supplies and gifts

January

    • meet to recap, evaluate, set dates for next year
